This was one of the first webcomics I came across online when I started reading them, and I'm so excited to see this in print! I love the concept, the humor, and the characters. I can't to read/reread more!

This is a great start to a graphic novel series. The characters are so easy to identify with especially if you are or know someone in the gaming community. The depiction of an introverted gamer not as a social pariah but one with health issues (asthma) and social anxiety is a nice change from the usual depiction. Also, it showcases the dangers of mob mentality that can occur with internet celebrities (sometimes without that celebrities intent) and how it can make lives for others difficult. Cyber bullying is a real thing and sadly those who partake in it have convinced themselves that they're aiding someone else or somehow righteous in what they're doing. It's a joy to watch this character as she tries to overcome her social anxiety and confrontation avoidance. It's also lovely to see a main character like this having an extremely supportive friend group as well. I look forward to reading the rest of the series to see how she develops and whether she can forgive the blogger that unintentionally tanked her chances as a game developer.

Sam Young has always wanted to become a game developer. Due to her poor health growing up she couldn't really participate with other kids her age and ended up playing a lot of video games. She worked several years develop a non-violent puzzle adventure game and uploaded it to a site that featured Indie games. Unfortunately a popular blogger by the tagname Marshal Law, who didn't even bother to read the instructions, assumed it was a typical kill adventure game and gave it a really bad review. As a result his fans went to the website and gave Sam's game so many bad reviews it tanked her rating essentially blacklisting her from the market. Even worse the man who did this ends up moving next door! Sam hates confrontation and likely has social anxiety so now she must learn how to deal with the unfairness of this cyber attack by his mob of fans and be his neighbor. However, Marshall is not as bad as one thinks and was unaware of what his fans did. The question is whether or not they can patch things up and become good neighbors or friends despite this incident especially considering their mutual like for videogames.

I read this on webtoon, but I reread this in 2022 when I bought the physical copy.

10 stars! If you havent read Let's Play! by Leeanne M. Krecic then get on it!! Sam is an indie-game designer of Ruminate and Marshall is a high-level gamer/streamer. In this volume you get introduced to Sam's world and all the characters. Since I first saw this on Webtoons, I have been a huge fan. This is a series you need to read, follow, and support. So "Let's Play"!

This was super fun to read! I originally started this on webtoons and lost track so picking it back up was great and it was nice to have it in book form. The story is good and I enjoy the portrayals of how YouTube and social media impacts our lives now. Plus the diverse group of people and gamers is awesome.
