The story that this book tells could be a pretty good one, but it ended up feeling like I was reading someone's diary. It moved fairly quickly but never felt fully developed. I also thought the unsolved murder of Anaya's brother would have some sort of focus in the story, but... nope. Also, everything about the Jeff storyline was incredibly irritating. I hope this book wasn't autobiographical in any way because that dude would be a walking red flag.
