Absolutely wonderful! Another five star book from Ali McNamara - full of found-family and friendship, as well as an intriguing historical family saga with Ali's trademark magical touch that warms the heart and leaves you wondering just how she comes up with these beautiful tales.

This was a really sweet Christmas read. It definitely got me in the festive spirit, and I really enjoyed reading about the festive period through the ages! The magic was fun and a creative way to bring the different time periods together in a unique and engaging story. I did find the love story felt a bit forced - 6 days and they’re in love planning a future together, when she’s just had a break up and is sworn off men on the first day? But the rest of the book was so enjoyable, I could just gloss over this ott romance 🤣 I did also feel at times the author tells rather than shows and there was a lot of spoon feeding the readers what to think, which made the writing style feel like it was jumping from adult to YA…but on the whole, it was a festive read and it got me feeling Christmassy, so mission accomplished! Take it at face value and you’ve got yourself a fun Christmas book!
