So much goes down in this book that there’s almost no break. You get to meet quite a few new people including another spirit user! Be prepared to cry by then end though.

This book was much better then the first one, the addition of adrians character helped HUGELY, finally adding some tension to the rose dimitri dynamic that isn’t weird age play 💔
i feel like this book cut a lot of the fat frm book 1 and focused way more on the important shit like decapitations and who’s dating who 😍😍😍
THINGS I LIKED
-ADRIAN even tho he has the most cringe character introduction known to man i do love him or i at least love the idea of what his character is obviously meant to b ..,, bad boy 😈😈”i don’t event like u.. no? then why r u wearing my perfume” 😫, it was also cool to see another spirit user and how his powers differed frm lissa (altho the reveal that he was a spirit user came to late imo bc by the time the book says it it’s already painfully obvious to the reader so i found myself getting annoyed that rose kept not figuring it out like damn)
i’m still team dimitri tho 😔🫡
-mason like damn he did charm me i’ll admit.,, even tho as soon as rose told him about spokane i knew he was gna die i was still 😱🫣 when he got his neck snapped..,, i’m glad he died not knowing rose was gna dump his flop ass
-and i also liked the rose and her mum story arc..,, there were times where i thought it was a bit clunky but by the end i was satisfied and was a converted MUMMY 🥺 supporter
-i also liked any time we got to see rose and christian interact..,, i WISH we got more of their frenimies dynamic bc like at this point i b writing my own fanfic about their relationship based on the SCRAPS the book gives us, then sneaking out together was a book highlight and it was like one page 💀
-mia redemption 😍😍 girls supporting girls era

-i feel like christian was rlly nerfed this book..,, like.,,,.. what happened to his rebel attitude.., he was doing so little this book i kinda forgot about him until the end.,,, like where was his snark.,,.. the author jus kinda mentioned that he sneered everynow and then but that was it wtf bring back my book 1 emo king they’ve massacred my boy 😭
-i’ve said it once and i’ll say it again there should be a lissa POV in these books.,, it’s like almost insane there isn’t, lissa is going on a completely different journey to rose but we have to hear about it all second hand it makes no sense?? it really feels like she should also b a protagonist but she’s just not?? i feel like the issues with christian’s personality being diluted would also b fixed if we saw him from a lissa POV like i’m actually losing my mind at how much better the books would b the story would b so much more interesting bc there’s b more plot going on at all times and you’d hav more options on how to story came together..,,.. so like instead of rose fully seeing thru lissas eyes she just feels her emotions so u cn hav rose feeling a huge spike in lissas emotions and then in the lissa POV chapters u find out why and where their chapters connect LIKE IM BAD AT EXPLAINING BUT THAT WOULD B SO MUCH BETTER
-the way every character introduced immediately gets ranked on how pretty/hot they are like 😭 pls jus describe them without making judgments like that pls why does everyone have to b hot or ugly or like hot but not as hot as the main character cn we pls get different descriptions i’m tired…… i never want to read about roses c cup breasts again ajhdkabskavsjavsksbsjabnas 😭
this isn’t really something i didn’t like exactly but i rlly think mia should have gotten a mark too..,, rose literally would not have been about to kill the strigoi if mia hasn’t drowned on of them.,, ?? like what kinda whack ass system doesn’t count that as at least an assisted kill or sumn idk justice for my girlie EDIT: just remembered mia is moroi so ofc she wouldn’t get a tattoo i’m a clown
