A rare case of the movie being better than the book.

UPDATE 2/21/20
Well, I just finished reading this for the second time - this time, via audiobook. I listened to the Audible Escape version with Laura Dern and - can I just say - that's how EVERY audiobook should be read. The cast was amazing. The sound effects were fantastic. I literally felt like I was listening to a movie. I can't recommend that audiobook enough.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 2/17/20
ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME
I just adore this book. I always watched the 1994 movie every year around Christmastime growing up. So, it was a pleasure to finally be reading this book. I adored it just as much as I did the movie. I'm not sure why I waited so long to actually read the book. There are so many life lessons to learn from Marmee and the March family. It teaches you how to appreciate the small, simple things in life. My heart is so full. This will likely be a book I reread every year.
I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend.

i really wanted jo to end up a literary spinster, the way the author had intended her to be. maybe i’m projecting but the denouement would have been better if she was an aroace.
