I have read books that were longer in length that did not feel like they took this long. By the end of the book I felt as if I had spent the several hundred years that the group did to get to the end of the book. While realistic and perhaps the ending was the payoff the author wanted, I was not overwhelmed by the book. I really feel like this story should have been broken up and redone as a series. It could have been so much more.
