Rather confusing switch between povs, other than that, the introduction to the characters and the new setup are also quite perplexing, too many new things happen without any preparations from the first original series, but halfway through we get more used to the new characters and grow fond of them

People say that this is the hardest book to get through but it's not! It's so fun and exciting!

Read this second series to Percy Jackson as a child when they first came out, and now I’m finally rereading them. I actually love them more the second time around. I remember I was so confused and upset that Percy wasn’t in this book (as I remember a most of the fandom was). But honestly being introduced to Piper, Leo, and Jason this way makes me love them even more. Especially Leo’s jokes and hints at his insecurities throughout his chapters. I love that it’s written in multi-perspective chapters. Feels like you get to know each character’s quirks and personality that much more rather than just being narrated by one person the whole book.
