Perspective into how someone different might view the world (what if you hated being hugged, how might you relate to your family).
A different view of the world.
Abrupt ending was quite beautiful and fitting (a book ending can make a very lasting impression for me: e.g. The Book Thief 'I am haunted by humans'
Relatively short and powerful narrative (I always think of Bridge to Terebithia when I praise this. Tiny book that almost has me in tears from chapter 3 these days every time I read it).
Funny (despite the fact he doesn't tell jokes ;-)

Some of the images that the narrative relies on were hard to view in my ebook edition. Very hard to find fault hence my 5 star review.
