Main character is inconsistent and has some problematic views. The bit about the dude killing everyone with a donkey's jawbone was badass so I gave it two stars.

I actually only finished the Old Testament. It took me a year and 2 weeks to complete the whole thing.

Most Christians I have known that profess to believe the Bible do not have a working familiarity with it and have never even read it through. Largely, they really are not expected to do so. In most Christian traditions becoming a Christian is through a conversion experience or a confirmation--these do not entail knowledge of the book folk are supposedly committing to. If these Christians later read the Bible, they may find what they get out of it differs considerably from what their preachers, teachers and articles of faith say it says. Some may decide none of it is for them.

From ~1978 to ~1997 I read the King James Version of the Bible in order at a rate of about one to two times in a year.

It's strange that one of the most important, most dangerous, and most misused books in the world could be so mind-numbingly boring. Anyone who claims they live their life by the bible should actually read it and see exactly what it is they claim to do. I'm guessing most people ignore 90% of what it says to do.

Worst fantasy/speculative fiction novel of all time. Unbelievable characters, poor writing skills. This fantasy book can't even keep the internal logic of it's world going. And the god character is just such a unrelenting villain that it's a real downer. For some bizarre reason, it's ok that cities are destroyed (down to the last donkey, never mind the children), so long as God is on your side. In Part I God makes a bunch of rules, and ruthlessly punishes his chosen people for not following said rules. In Part II God sacrifices himself to himself so that he doesn't have to punish people for breaking the rules any more. The rest of Part II is mainly about how most of the old rules don't apply any more, except for the ones that do (namely, don't be gay/pedophile or a sorcerer). Then a bunch of weird apocalyptic shit happens.

The entire book is basically one long "bury your gays" trope. Come on, people, it's 2023.

I would be able to overlook the obvious flaws if there was at least some smut. There was obvious queer tension between Jesus and Judas that was never explored. Instead of betraying him with his Judas Kiss, why couldn't he betray him with his Judas Cock? To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

Do better.

You do not write a Review for the Bible, It writes one For You. But Jokes aside, I love the Bible so much. Not only for it's many wisdoms and comforts it gives, but because of the amazing Truth it tells as well. It is a Love story, full of murder, blood and war. It has So much sorrow and pain, but it also has hope. And That Hope is Lord Jesus. All of the things that have and will happen are all leading up to the point when we Christians finally get to return to the Eternal Garden, to be with our Lord forever more.

I will admit I was a little hesitant to write this (what Can I say that hasn't already been written in the Bible.) But I just want to put this here, Jesus Loved us So much That He was Willing to Die for us. To build a Bridge With three nails and a Cross so that We could could go with Him to Eternity, And all He asks of us is to Believe in Him. That He is King, and The only way to The Father is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6-7). He Is The Way!

I will be praying for you all my Friends. That you Know Jesus and what He's done for Us, And that Nothing you Do is ever Too horrible for Him to Forgive. He Loves You no matter What!

Bad plot, great to smoke if you run out of papes

Spoiler:
Sweet idea with that one guy sacrificing himself, but I don’t think that the sacrifice still counts if he came back after 3 days, he sacrificed a weekend not his life
