DID NOT FINISH

Not sure why everyone is rating this book 5 stars. The writing is terrible. It’s almost like a book that I would’ve written myself in 7th grade thinking that I had a gift for writing. It reads like a wattpad story. And the killers poorly written pov chapters are just there to remind us that they’re so amazing at killing and no one will ever catch them

This was amazing! I couldn’t put it down. I did find some parts to be too long winded and repetitive Tori made up for it. I really loved her throughout this read. There’s nothing better than a strong female lead who can hold her own.

Silenced Girls is a gripping and well-structured crime thriller that pulls you in from the first chapter. I loved the premise—haunting disappearances and buried secrets—and the way the story was outlined kept the tension high throughout. Roger Stelljes does an excellent job weaving together past and present as FBI Special Agent Tori Hunter navigates a chilling case. The pacing, twists, and layered character development made this a compelling read that’s hard to put down. A solid start to a promising series.

When I was first given the opportunity to read Silenced Girls, I was unable to commit to reading it, which I was disappointed about. Everything about this book appealed to me, I mean just look at the cover for one thing! But as fate would have it, the stars ended up aligning and here I am now sharing this review on its publication day!

The Silenced Girls follows FBI agent Tori Hunter as she returns to her home town of Manchester Minnesota, after being estranged from there for the last twenty years. She has been lured back to investigate the disappearance of a woman, but with it, comes painful memories of her past that are brought back up to the surface.

I really liked the character of Tori Hunter and learning about her background, which involved the disappearance of her twin sister 20 years ago and how the case she is working on becomes entwined with that. She is complex and has a lot of layers to her, which I look forward to being peeled back in future books.

I enjoyed Roger Stelljes writing which is very engaging and he has executed this story very well. The only thing I did find was that it could have been a bit shorter, but in the grand scheme of things, this did not take away from the strength of the story, its characters or the enjoyment of the book for me.

Silenced Girls is such a good start to a new series and is a real page turner. It is a gripping mystery that is fraught with tension and suspense and with some twists and turns thrown in along the way, makes this an entertaining and enjoyable read.

This was exactly what I expected it would be and I loved that. A straight forward whodunnit story, exactly what I wanted to help get me out of the slump I felt myself gravitating towards.

Got this for free on my kindle and don’t think it was for me.  I didn’t care for the writing style and I thought it dragged out way too much.  I’m fine with things being a bit predictable with the amount of mysteries I’ve read at this point but I just could not get into this one.
