Scars

Okay I'm going to lay it on the line - this series is crazy ridiculous in the best way. Consisting of three books it's set in London and based on rival gangs who regularly have these mass gun fights / slaughters. Which if you live in the UK you know is madness and made me laugh because this could just never happen. I'll be honest though that made me love it even more.

Scarlett has run away from her Romania mafia style family because they tried to kill her on her 21st birthday. She found 3 years later the next city over by the Triad - Sebastian, Tristan & Elliot. They naturally kidnap her with the intention of trading her back to her family to try to force a truce between the two gangs.

Very quickly she is in a relationship with all three men which is set against a backdrop of heaps of violence and family drama over the course of the series.

This for me is a fun crazy yomp which I enjoyed very much…..there's kidnapping, plotting, guns, flame throwers, and girl gangster vibes galore.

I picked this series up kind of by accident - I enjoy a Dana Isaly books. She generally writes brilliant fun spicy novellas that act as a nice little breather for my brain. I just downloaded this thinking it was a similar easy to breeze through 90 pages but it turned out it's a full three book series which I stormed through in just a couple of days.

There are so many triggers in this series it's insane so just be aware, if you have a trigger it's in here - even if you're a bit squeamish this isn't for you.

So bad

I’m sorry what did I just read? and after all those cringey pages, it ended so abruptly?

I like this story enough to continue with the series. There is a lot going on throughout the book, and the story feels a bit short. I really do like Scarlet. She's an interesting character, but she's not a fleshed out developed character. Neither are any of the guys. I wish I had more background because it's a little difficult to care about the characters. I really hope the next book has more character background and growth. I'm interested to see what her family is involved with when it comes to her and how this all makes sense. Everything is all up in the air right now.

This book was a good start to this series and i have high hopes for where the next book might go! I loved some of the characters and liked that we dont immediately find out the backgrounds to all the boys yet. The relationship with all 3 boys is different which is something i loved.

I liked scarlet but i wasn’t a fan of how fast she settled into the situation
