I loved this book! The guys were great. I want to see some more one on one time with Elliot and ofc some group activities in the next one!

Thank you to Talk Nerdy 2 Me and the author, Dana Isaly, for providing a copy of Scars (The Triad book 1). I have reviewed honestly.

Scars features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
○ Dark romance
○ Enemies to lovers
○ Reverse harem
○ Gangsters
○ Kidnapping
○ Stockholm Syndrome
○ Attempted rape
○ Violence

My overall rating for Scars is…

4.5 Stars!

Who would have thought that cut-throat gangsters love to cuddle? Scars is an intense and twisted romance tale with murderour gangsters, a sassy and crazed FMC and enough spice to keep you squirming long after the page is turned. I loved the fierce and enticing writing style the author used in Scarlett's chapters, and the consuming, dangerous and sometimes broody personification of our deliciously depraved men. Overall, this book had the perfect amount of sex, suspense and snark to keep a dark romance reader glued to the page.

Dana Islay is my queen of quick and dirty dark romance, but this is probably my least favorite from her so far. I'm only reading book two for Elliot, obviously.

I need the next book ASAP like this book has everything, I love it sooo much. I can’t believe I didn’t read this book before

You have to ignore the rough beginning, but after that, it’s great. If you like the Suicide Squad Vibes, this is great. (Which I do!)

Felt a bit underwritten and could have used 50-100 pages more to feel more developed.

And that ending was very harsh - like this was the midpoint of a book, not the ending.
