I have loved both of Rachel Lynn Solomon's adult romance books and was excited to try her YA. While I did enjoy this book it was not my favorite by her. The cover is what made me pick this one up (its so dang cute), I was also really excited to read about the wedding business. This was a quick read ( I listened to the audio), full of fun banter between the MC and all about learning how to go after the life you've dreamed of.

this book was so frkn great. i will say i think books about weddings just may never be perfect because i think weddings are a little boring. overall i loved their relationships no it was so cute and the family stuff was great even though some of i thought she was just being dumb lol. tarek is so good. i will definitely read almost anything she writes because i’ve really enjoyed three of her books!!
as i read: characters and i i love how her female characters are not ashamed about sex and it’s normalized. like she started hooking up with corey and it was not a big deal and how she called him out. i also love how the main character has ocd and anxiety. i hope we find out fairly early why he never responded to her email and i hope it’s actually a good reason. i relate to her so hard about not wanting or understanding the huge romantic gestures and the big weddings. ahhhh his big grand gesture on the boat was for her and her jealousy and cynicism ruined it and she was so hurtful to him but like she didn’t know it was for real. i like how she knows she doesn’t want to do business but she also doesn’t know what she does want cause that’s literally me. i like that they kiss and they admit it to each other pretty early. okay his romantic gesture with the orchestra tickets was so cute and i get where she’s coming from but like i love him and i hate him being hurt by her not wanting the gestures. okay their big blow up makes me so sad. like i would jump on that opportunity so fast. i absolutely love tarek and he’s so thoughtful and when she’s mean to him because of her own personal issues i get so sad. ahh i love them together. then ending was so good and how her attempt at a romantic gesture didn’t magically fix everything. i love tarek and how much he knew he wanted to be with her the whole time.

We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This is many things; it’s funny, it’s charming, it’s a love letter to rom coms and wedding season and Seattle, but what truly makes it shine — and what has cemented it on my favorites list — is its exploration of breaking away from predetermined paths, standing up for yourself, and its honest mental health representation.

「 book 1 out of 100 」

Quinn was so annoying. Literally one of the most annoying main characters and I’m almost never annoyed by main characters. Also what is up with the sucky muslim representation? Seriously? Not every muslim needs to be an open muslim for the story to work.

Not a great way to start off the year.
