Living in a cold damp house in the midst of winter, I I really hoped to be transported, but sadly I'm still stuck here...

Not a bad read, but wasn’t as captivating as I expected. Short book, but still difficult to finish.

Delightfully, densely woven and poetic prose that transports the reader into the mind of Luisa, a deeply intelligent but bored young woman in Mexico City who runs away to a sleepy beach in Oaxaca. This is a coming of age story with new wave playing on a cassette tape in the background, the story of a young woman who seeks salvation in men only to find them transformed before her, and their transformations highly disappointing.

This is a kind of book where a person can hardly recognize it as a literary piece or a senseless babbling, where you can hardly decide whether to continue or stay at it to read.

it had been a while but i read a book, this book! it reminded me of weetziebat. i never saw the next sentence coming. it concerned itself greatly with the ocean, and i love the ocean
