Not for me. Ended up not being about the history I thought it’d be, it was very Greece vs. Persian Empire heavy. At times it felt more like a Greek History book than a Persian Empire history book. It also felt like we jumped around a lot.

Definitely not a book for beginners looking for an intro to Greek or Persian Empire history.

At times I almost felt the Persians were enlightened -redresses the view that the Greeks were the good guys.
