This was a great forbidden love romance. I really enjoyed the way it was written, it was different than what I’m used to read. Sophia and Beckett had a strong connection and I liked their dynamic. Great story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When I saw Cassie Mint had another book coming out I jumped on the opportunity to read! Her books are always quick, easy reads that aren't missing any sort of plot or spice and keep you hooked from beginning to end. After reading her Very Merry Mob series, I will forever recommend her books to everyone!

This story follows Sophia and Beckett on their journey to love and their own happily ever after. When they meet at a masquerade ball, neither know who the other is. It is only the next day that Sophia realizes who she was spending time with that throws a monkey wrench in her path to a happily ever after. With Beckett being her brother's enemy, how could it ever be okay that she fall in love with a man who feels so right for her?

Despite the short length of the story, we do get a couple of years packed into their tale. Almost the entire story follows a different year of the masquerade ball after their initial meeting and the attraction between these two never dies. It is only after the both realize who the other is that the drive to solidify their relationship once and for all begins and that certainly is never lacking. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and you really get some great character development and willingness to change and make changes that some novellas can tend to lack.

If you are looking for a quick, spicy, billionaire love story with a guaranteed happy ending, add this one to your list!

Very weak writing style, the idea is there the execution was not.

i liked the concept of a masquerade ball with the hidden identity trope, but i was just hoping for more interaction between Sophia & Beckett. didn’t feel any chemistry between them both

At the yearly masquerade ball, two strangers meet & fall for each other. Sophia realizes quickly that the man she fell for is her brother’s rival Beckett, but Beckett can’t find her.

This reminded me a lot of The Kiss Thief. It felt really nostalgic to me because of that. I liked the masquerade aspect. Fun read!
