This book changed me. I don’t know if it’s in a positive or negative way, but it did.

feels quite slow but paced for the majority of the book, not much happens and feels dragged out, but then gets interesting and thought-provoking towards the end

1984 is a dystopian book about a society where everything you do is monitored and all information is controlled. The book centers on the man character Winston who falls in love with a woman named Julia. The story manly centers on the aspects of the dystopian life he lives in and also the bleak and tragic love story between Winston and Julia.  I loved this book and my jaw dropped at the ending. This is one of the bleakest dystopian books you’ll ever read, and I loved it.

I didn't enjoy this book much. The story is well written and easy to read (besides searching the meaning of a few words). I was not a fan of the antisemitism woven through the book.
I did not enjoy the 'book within a book'. I begrudgingly read it because I was unsure whether it was important to the story or not. I found the ending of the book a bit trash too. I have searched for an explanation of it, but haven't felt satisfied.
