I love short stories like these and the Dumbledore parts.
Techincally this is a re-read but I never had it on my list (at least I don't think so?). Super fun, love the notes from Dumbledore, and sooo looking forward to sharing this with my little one!
The tales with Dumbledore's thoughts and experiences, brilliant!

This was a lot of fun to reread, especially reading the US illustrated edition alongside the audiobook. Lisbeth Zwerger illustrates beautifully, giving the book a fairy-tale quality. I plan to reread with the UK illustrated copy, as I do like Chris Riddell's artwork.
The tales themselves are very simple but work well as short stories. Like many muggle stories, each has a morale and is quite charming.
I would rate the stories as follows:
The Wizard and the Hopping Pot - 4 stars - it's very silly but with good morals and quite fun.
The Warlock's Hairy Heart - 4.5 stars - quite eery, which makes for a good cautionary tale.
The Fountain of Fair Fortune - 5 stars - very charming, and the illustrations complimented it.
Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump - 5 stars - quite amusing, and the illustrations worked well.
The Tale of the Three Brothers - 4 stars - it was fun to read the inspiration behind the cloak, wand and stone, but I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the others.
Overall, I would rate this 4.5 stars and would highly recommend listening to the audiobook as well as reading an illustrated copy.
