This is a lovely book, it has all the supposed witch and wizard childhood stories, including The Tale of the Three Brothers, which made me squeel with happiness! It's heart warming reading these stories, one because it feels as though they have been pulled from the Harry Potter books, and two because well, who doesn't love an old witch or wizard tale?

Anyone who loves Harry Potter will love this book and the many stories it holds within it!

I already own and have read the original hardback cover of this book but couldn't help myself when it came to purchasing the version aswell. The cover is absolutely lovely and I love the new illustrations they've added inside. It really does have that children's book look to it now, unlike the older version which I felt looked more like a cookbook or something you'd find at the back of your grandmother's cupboard (which has its own charm, but it doesn't quite give off "children's book" to me). Saying that, I still wouldn't know which to choose out of the two if I was told I could only have one!

You can see my original review of this book here, which I wrote over 4 years ago so it's kiiiiiinda cringe. Bleh.

“To hurt is as human as to breathe.”

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a short story collection with five stories.

The stories have a good balance of dark and light and magic and truth. However, they lack depth because they are written as short bedtime stories.

After each story, there are notes from Professor Dumbledore. These notes are interesting, academic and full of Dumbledore's unique personality. Surprisingly, I preferred the notes over the stories.

This is a wonderful short story collection that adds richness to an already well-constructed world.

Unos cuentos mágicos que me impresionaron y me dieron a conocer parte de la literatura del Mundo Mágico de Harry Potter. Aunque pudieron haber sido mejor. Pero de por si el libro me gusto.

Much darker and creepier than the other supplemental Potter books, but very interesting once you've read the entire series (especially book 7).
