I had some issues with the pacing, but a very very good book. A new take on an old story and I loved nearly every minute of it. Not sure how I missed this author but I'll be scooping up his newest book (which is how I found this title) and his older books ASAP.

This isn’t a traditional horror novel. I did really like this take on werewolves though as it feels like what would hold the most truth for werewolves in the US. The pacing was a bit difficult to get through at times and I felt like the ending had a lot of big things happening all at once for no reason at all. It was a good coming of age story despite all this and I did appreciate the atmosphere of the whole book.

I like the idea behind this book but I struggled to get through it. Which may be the point. The end was worth it though.

This was great. Nicely written, good characters, an interesting setting and a good spin on werewolves. Really, no complaints with the book itself. I had a great time reading it.

Now, minor complaint around this book: It's not horror. That's just a silly classification. It's not scary in the least. Just because books include monsters doesn't mean they are horror.

But still, really dug this. Looking forward to checking out more of Jones' work.
