I’ve always been fond of AK so I was l looking forward to this one. It was absolutely heartbreaking the way both AK and Phebe coped with PTSD and survivors’ guilt. The plotline of the women getting kidnapped and the guys having to come save them is getting a little repetitive… but tbh, I love that trope so it doesn’t bother me much. I do wish there had been a way for them to rescue all of the women who were trafficked, but maybe that comes up again in later books. Overall, I loved this installment.

I have waited for AK's story for so long, and it didn't disappoint.

I loved AK as a love interest, he was charming and funny and intelligent and his backstory was so heartbreaking. Phebe was such a strong mc, and I loved how she fought for everyone she cares about. The make such a good couple. AND AK WAS SO HOT OMG LIKE HE'S THE HOTTEST HANGMEN, CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND. The plot was not as intense as the rest of the books, but still good, nonetheless.
