“Let’s agree to disagree shouldn’t end a discussion. It should start a new conversation with a focus on understanding and learning rather than arguing and persuading.”

“The risk is that we become so wrapped up in preaching that we’re right, prosecuting others that are wrong, and politicking for support that we don’t bother to rethink our own views.”

“Still, when it comes to careers, instead of searching for the job where we’ll be the happiest, we might be better off pursuing the job where we expect to learn and contribute the most.”

Nothing has ever convinced me to let go of Pluto as a planet until this book. This challenged me to separate my feelings towards something from the fact of the matter and to always stay learning.

This felt a little repetitive at times, but there were so many good ideas. I listened to the audio, but I'm really tempted to buy my own print copy to go through and flag things. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is willing to reexamine your thought processes.

Adam Grant’s work definitely makes me think and re-think how I do things and how I might change. It would be easy to get stuck doing what’s comfortable as I get older, but I don’t want to be stuck. This book was so good in audio format (he actually reads it), that I purchased a copy because I need to read and re-read what he says!

Lots of good reminders to keep your brain flexible. I feel like this is something my dad would give me to read.

Everyone should rethink what they have learned. It is the only way to grow. Adam Grant once again amazes me at his insight into human nature.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It gave me a different perspective on life.

Will need to read again to take notes.

I didn't like it as much as Mary did, that's for sure. Mostly stuff you knew, like being willing to change your mind when the information you have changes. I felt the anecdotes chosen to prove the author's points were a) cherry picked, and b) in some cases, offensive (all these people wouldn't have died if they just followed my advice).
