I don't think I'd be disappointed in this if it had come out before the final book in the series. Expectations were high, and I wanted more Potter drama that I didn't get. Rowling claimed that it provided new insights into the world of HP; maybe I'm just not that insightful, I don't know.

Taking all of that away, however, and looking at the book for what it is, I must say that the stories themselves are quite wonderful, as are the illustrations. Very "Rowling-esque." The commentary by Dumbledore was also a nice touch, reminding me, at times, why he was such a wonderfully lovable character to begin with.

An essential read for any HP fan.

These stories were quite entertaining, and I loved Dumbledore's commentary on each of them. Andrew and I read them as bedtime stories to Eloise because we wanted to read her something that we would enjoy, since she's not getting much out of any stories right now. But I could see it being fun to go back and read these with her when she gets older.

Well i'm a sucker for fairytales and these are just so cute and fun! Loved it!
'The Fountain of Fair Fortune' was my favorite.
