The foul language in dialogue was horrendous and not necessary, especially when it contrasted so greatly from the beautiful writing describing the landscape. It was like the author was throwing swear words in just because he could.
The story itself was intriguing, sand divers, diving in the sand much like scuba divers do in water. They dive to recover artifacts that have been buried in the relentless sand. I think the use of such harsh language showed a real lack of character on the author's part, especially where the main conversational adjective was the f-bomb. I will not be reading anything else from this author unless the language is cleaned up.
