This is a dystopian, Sci-Fi, thriller that takes place in a futuristic America covered in sand. One career that arose in response to civilization being buried is sand divers. These people use tech designed to displace and repulse the sand so they can uncover lost treasures feet below the surface. This causes a race to find buried buildings not yet picked over for valuable parts. Naturally this creates tension and organizations of people pitted against each other, but are they the real enemies? Or is there a larger puppet master behind the sandy haze?

Really enjoyable. Good character development. A nice plot line. Weird ending but still enjoyable. If you've read and liked Howey's other works then you should read this. If you haven't read any of Howey's other works you should probably still read this.

I picked this up through a recommendation from a fellow dystopian reader. They said book two was coming out after years since the first release. I jumped in and I am so glad I did!

This is such an incredible dystopian landscape! I enjoyed the multiple POVs and how they intertwined, with each other and throughout their world. The end of Part One had me at the edge of my seat and I couldn't read fast enough.

I need to get my hands on the second book!

I only got through about 30% of this book and had to stop. The plot was developing so slow I don't think it was going to go anywhere. The first part of the omnibus was showing promise with the characters but then went away from them in the next.
