So this seems to wipe out all previous Tim Hunter comics and take us right back to the beginning, which isn't totally a bad thing because I remember most of it as being distinctly 'meh'. The fact that they've never been completely collected in tpb form has always spoken volumes.

The main negative of this new run is, for me, the art. It really worked for the recap, that was great, but it didn't work for the rest of it. Tim looks angry most of the time and slightly podgy, instead of scrawny. I'm not feeling it yet.

On the plus side, Hettie! One of my faves.

Too rushed. I suppose it Does assume a lot of knowledge from the existing universe and the artwork is really good. Maybe a little Harry Potter-ish? Even so, for someone approaching this universe with no context and I actually thought this was Neil Gaiman's "Books of Magic", to be honest, so this review Is to be taken with a pinch of salt - but, it's only an average first impression.

I don't really like Tim, yet. But I see potential for growth so there's that.

I love the srewdriver wand and the story so far is intriguing. Excited for more!

Better then expected. Promising story and character, nothing extraordinary so far, but for a first issue it's looking good. A mix between Harry Potter and The Magicians (probably closer to a soft middle age Magicians series).
