Oh Blessed King of Longing
حالا خیلی منطقی‌تر به نظرم میاد که چرا فراخوندشون. که چقدر سخته که نتونی هیچکاری بکنی.

I either wanna give this one the lowest number of stars, or the maximum, so I split the difference here.

Lowest because this one really indulges in all the stereotypes one might have about seinen manga. I always say Hook feels like a psyop to make Spielberg look bad; this one feels like a psyop to embarrass you for reading manga.

Highest cuz I couldn't help but laugh at Miura just being MAX MIURA throughout the whole thing. Miss u every day my incel king...

Casca during the whole Wyald episode* is so funny; getting her clothes ripped JUST SO! Constantly shakin' and cryin' like some GIRL! It's basically a parody, like when Homer rented The Erotic Adventures of Hercules. "Guts, the three-eyed giant tore my clothes!!!" (starring Norman Fell as Void)

I feel like Miura might have been behind on some bills with this one and just needed to pump out some content; Griffith's growing frustration and resentment literally could have been conveyed over a campfire scene. Fights are super cool and all, and he really is at the top of his game art-wise, it really is the height of indulgence. At least the Bakiraka served to separate Charlotte from the band!

*the black dog knights are also the first time sexual violence is just treated as a thing that happens cuz it's On Brand for the series, rather than something that has profound consequences. The good guys are literally making little "oh no!! aww crap!!" chase scene jokes mere panels away from dismembered rape victims being tossed about.
