Great Scott! I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be with this latest picture book adaptation of a popular movie: I'd previously very much enjoyed Home Alone and E.T. It might be because this is my favourite of the movies they've done so far, and thus I was pickier about what I'd accept. The plot is stripped down a lot to fit into a picture book, and it focuses mostly on the plot of Marty trying to fix George and Lorraine's relationship so he'll exist. While this is of course the major driving force of Back to the Future's story, most of what makes the movie so enjoyable for me is the relationship between Doc and Marty, and it was rather overlooked. I felt like Doc was hardly there. And I'm not sure the story would have appeal to children; not like the Home Alone and E.T. versions where I think kids would stay interested. As a child I was always more into the Delorean and time-travel adventure than the George/Lorraine story. But it's still a pretty cute and very colourful picture book.

I won't lie, I am probably going to buy all of these... except maybe not the E.T. one... too sad :(
