ahdnwmdllsnxk so good. so summer. but also just so intriguing and investing without being too far fetched. there was so much meaningful insight of the family and how the characters behaved and how each of them was shaped by their different and collective experiences.  I loved how much it covered and the amount of topics, characters, and time periods it developed whilst still maintaining a consistent and easily comprehended flow of the story.

I adored this book. TJR has done it again. There is nothing this woman cannot do. This family will live in my head for a long time.

This is the story of generational trauma, familial love, and the price of fame. The writing is impeccable, the characters are three dimensional, and the atmosphere was perfect. I felt like I was on the beach in the 80s.

I will pick up every book this woman writes for the rest of time, and probably give them all 4 and 5 stars.

This would be an excellent summer read! Takes place in California and follows a family of famous surfers.

Can Taylor Jenkins Reid write a bad book? I’m not sure it’s possible. She is the master of beautifully nuanced characters that are both individually unique and the kind of characters you can always find pieces of yourself in. This was a great book.
