Truly a masterpiece work of poetry. Even though it was translated from Bengali, you could feel the love, the desperation, the longing, and many many more emotions that the poet had poured into each and every single word.

Considered one of India's greatest poets, Tagore translated some of his poems into English prose for this collection published in 1910. It earned him the Nobel Prize; he was the first non-European to win the prize. The poems are often spiritual in nature but cover the gamut of life, love, and death.

Overall, this is too devotional for my taste, but there are some seriously beautiful phrases that make this one a keeper.

I didn't like the English translation. English is not a language of poetry I think :)
