I can’t deny that I did find some enjoyment in reading this book, and learned some interesting things I didn’t know before. However, you can cite a million of your unnamed sources, you still won’t get me to believe China shot down the plane because they only saw the American military planes surrounding it, ordering the plane to land so they could get the stolen American assets that were hidden in the cargo, disguised on the cargo list as fruit.

I'm really interested in real life mysteries and the disappearance of MH370 is one that has fascinated me since it happened in 2014. It's incomprehensible how a large aircraft can just disappear, and all these years later we still do not truly know what happened to it.

Florence de Changy does an excellent job of compiling all of the public information together, combined with insider knowledge and private interviews. She calls out all of the many inconsistencies and includes many voices that have previously been ignored or disparaged by the media.

It did throw me off at times when certain certain pieces of information seemed to be given undue prominence in the book, however I appreciate that this is difficult when so many sources need to stay anonymous! I was worried we weren't going to get a summary of the information or the author's opinion but the last chapter absolutely blew me away. I enjoyed how de Changy took all of the elements of the investigation and put forward an incredible but totally believable account of what could have actually happened.

If the MH370 fascinated you like it did me, then I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

a very detailed and well constructed investigative book on the disappearance of the plane MH370. the author carefully describes and debunks the possible theories of the why's this tragic incident happened . With a lot of time spent on the investigations , all the chapters the thoroughly written with every minuscule details . If someone is interested in this case , this book can provide a good insight to how this might be related to world politics behind the general public's eyes. and also I liked the author dropped a joke or two or sarcastic sentences .

While the investigative journalism in this book seems thorough and professional, it seems more like a smattering of facts instead of a well-narrated story. I probably still have the lofty ideal of Michelle McNamara in my mind. I DNFd the book at 14%, even though I was and still am pretty intrigued about the happenings of MH 370, the cover-ups by the government and the author's theories about what actually went down on that fateful night,
