Aidan, as a character, took me by surprise in such a good way. I loved the humor in this book and the relationship between aidan and alex. I had my differences with alex's struggle in her change to carpathian but overall thought she was an amazing character.

The third instalment of the series sees Aiden find his lifemate in Alexandria. Alexandria is the sole custodian of her young brother, Joshua, and she will do anything to protect him. This story is a battle between Aiden and Alexandria where he tries to convince her that he is not a vampire but is Carpathian, and she doesn't want to accept that she is no longer human. They eventually come to an agreement and work together to save Joshua.

Dark Gold is the third installment of the Dark Series. And it's basically has the recurring theme of the series, which is a possessive and powerful male meeting a woman with a will of her own. Alexandria, in my opinion, is strong willed, if a bit too stubborn for her own good, a trait that I've learned to like during the course of the book, but it was a bit annoying at first. I'm guess it's CF's way of developing the character of a human woman's transition to being something else, so I guess that could excuse Alex's earlier hysteria. Aidan...now, he and characters like him are what the Dark Series are made of. Yum. Haha. All in all, the book was good, which is to be expected, though it could get dragging after a while, especially since CF has the tendency to describe the same thing over and over again.

I liked this book a whole better than Dark Magic. If simply because I liked the female character better.

This book was a slog for me. Almost a DNF. It is 269 pages of a guy trying to win over the lady. No other real story.

They were masters of the darkness, searching through eternity for a mistress of the light...

I truly enjoyed this book! Yes the Hero (main male character) is over bearing and probably not a feminist but it was still good!
It was well written with a vibrant world & well developed characters.

Alexandria will do anything to protect her brother ... will he help her?

Much better than Book 2, but still quite repetitive. I suppose that's expected considering they're all Carpathian males, who find psychic females who have no idea that Carpathian's really exist.

I think there was more of a 'romance' element here again, which Aiden trying to properly court Alexandria and hide his dark side from her. I still don't get why the women keep denying what is so obvious. They're all independent, yes, I get that, and all are usually emotionally stunted and unable to accept that they're in love. But not all women are that way, and it would be nice to read something different. Hopefully I'll get that later on in the series.

Again i wanted to take the male Carpathian and beat his head against a wall, but other than that i liked this one too.
