A bit slower than I was hoping, but it made for much more realistic and complete character development. The characters seem more three dimensional and not trapped in the pages of a book.
Well done spice, believable, and added benefit of using the dual POV to get into both characters’ minds and extend the experience, which hi, hello- lesbians. IYKYK.

this book was a cute read, i won’t lie! very easy and quick to get through. the switching of perspectives was never really my cup of tea, but i felt that it did help bring home the differences between Faye and Ida towards the end of the novel. In terms of books that are about sapphic co-stars getting with each other during/after shooting a movie, this book fell short for me. It didn’t give me what other books of this genre and trope did, but it was cute and likable enough. the dialogue was something that seemed a bit too… try-hard, at times. overall, an okay read. 3/5.

I loved this! I was really surprised by how well done it was. It was nuanced and interesting and the characters were well developed.

This was a sweet and mostly lighthearted romance. I enjoyed it but it didn’t quite have that extra thing for me. I enjoyed both main characters, their dynamic was lovely, and I always enjoy the acting/Hollywood trope. What I didn’t love was how often ida kept saying not coming out for so much of her life meant she didn’t have enough self respect——that’s some bullshit. Your sexuality is no one’s business but your own, and that doesn’t at all mean you don’t respect yourself if you never choose share that with anyone. I dunno I don’t think that was the overall message trying to be pushed or anything, but some variation of that came up a few times and it really rubbed me the wrong way. All in all, this was a fun lighthearted romance with impeccable narration.
