Oh. My. God. This series is driving me crazy!

This is such a good series and this book was amazing. By far the best one in the series and the wait for book 4 is going to be agonising.

The story is going on strong and there's so much happeneing and they keep on almost-dying and I'm freaking out because I want the characters to be okay. To be happy. They're all such great characters and I love them all.

I especially love Kai (for some reason) and I want to tell Cinder that if she doesn't want him, I'll keep him. Though I don't see that happening. *Remorseful sigh*

Also, I never thought I'd say this, but I liked the damsel in distress. And I the main reason for that is that even though she needs saving at times and she's not very stable emotionally, she's not really a damsel. She kind of wants to be because, that way, at least she won't be hopelessly stuck like she was before. And I understand that. Her life has been so influenced by fairytales and movies and she doesn't know reality. She's never experienced it. She did monumentally well for someone who was trapped in a satellite for 7 years. Alone.

One last thing I wanna talk about is that I love how Marissa Meyer incorporates pieces of the original fairytales into the stories. The things that most retellings whould have glossed over after coming so far away from the originals (I mean, Cinderella was a Cyborg! You can't get much farthar than that.)

Things like Cinderella losing her shoe (or foot, in this case), the wolf disguised as grandma, Cinderella's dress (or gloves, in this case) being ruined by the mean step-sister, Repunzel's hair being used as rope. All those things are nice, little surprises. It proves that these aren't just retellings because of some vague things like step-sister, step-mother, red hood and long hair. She really does include many of the fairytale details into her books along with making the characters (the females especially) stronger.

Excited to meet Winter. She seems like a very interesting character.

Update: I forgot to say that I absolutely LOVE Marissa Meyer for intoducing sci-fi werewolves.

Probably my favourite book so far in the series. Even with the billion and one perspectives we read from. I even found those were more distinguished from one another.

I like where this series is taking us at this point, and I'm excited for Winter. I'm a little nervous with some of the characteristics we've seen this far in the story, but I think it could go places with all four of the girls.

I found that at times the book could be a little predictable, and just like with the first one, a lot of sarcastic "didn't see that comin!" Overall though, in my opinion better than the second, and this is going places... Like the MOON!!!

I could not put this book down. I keep thinking the books have to go downhill, but they just keep getting better. I love Cress' complete innocence and seeing a part of Thorne that goes beyond the arrogant showman. I love watching Cinder progress in her character and skills, while dealing with the reality of who it means she is becoming. As the plot continues to grow every thicker and more clouded, I can't wait to see what the conclusion brings!

It pains me to say that I was pretty disappointed with this book. A majority of people say Cress is their favorite book and Cress/Thorne their favorite ship but so far in the series both are my least favorite. Not to say that I dislike them, there were still parts of the book and the ship I enjoyed but I had such different expectations and since they weren't met at all, I'm just so disappointed.

I didn't think Cress would be such a damsel in distress (and no, I didn't read the blurb on the back of the book before starting it). And with my expectations I thought there would be some banter between her and Thorne. But no, she'd been idolizing him and it made for such a weird dynamic which was just so different to what I thought it would be. And I didn't like it.

I loved them both as individual characters. I already loved Thorne in Scarlet and I really liked Cress when she wasn't with Thorne.

As for the things I liked more about Cress; I liked how easy the book was to read despite it being over 500 pages. I LOVED Cinder. And Cinder and Kai. And Jacin. I am now very excited to read Winter. She seems like such an interesting character.
