Everything was good until you reached the end of the middle section of the book. Perhaps around pages 150-200. There is barely any conflict/climax. The ‘problem’ that they faced was so boring and lacklustre. The problem wasn’t even delved into. It was just all surface-level. Then the resolution was just as bad. The resolution felt like it was only added because the author forgot about the problem and conflict they added and was like ah crap, let me just fix the problems that they were having. The resolution did not even touch on phebes relationship with her parents, the ADHD, Grace’s relationship with her family (apparently magically fixed in 1 convo with her dad), the shit assistant coach, the World Cup??? Like so much was just not explored to allow more repetitive back and forth, ring around the rosy with Pheobe and Grace. It was just very repetitive with their whole relationship. I almost want to drop this book down to 2.5 stars now but I did enjoy the first half. I'll think some more about it and change the rating if I want to.

It's cute enough, but I didn't like one of the main characters which made it difficult to really enjoy.

Even though I do not watch any football at all. I still enjoy a cute football romance. This book surely has some flaws and mentions to many times TikTok, which always gives me the ick. But it was still enjoyable. And I always love seeing representations of all kinds of people in books.
