When complex issues are documented from the perspective of a child, you’re gonna have your heartstrings pulled. The worries, musings and humour of the child are palpable through every page you read. Short it may be, but as they say; the best things come in small packages. This one is worth your time. Admittedly, I found the prose a little confusing at times but this is a personal observation as opposed to a critique of the book. The writing style is different to most of what I’ve read before, so there was a readjustment period. I’m very thankful the art of translation exists because without it, I wouldn’t have been able to read this gem.
