Interesante novela que da cuenta de Las tensiones internas y externas del exilio latinoamericano en España, principalmente a través del reflejo en el Mundo "interno" del matrimonio.
El protagonista no se sostiene demasiado al paso del tiempo, siendo bastante detestable y su misoginia, manipulación, y violencia psicológica, si Bien un reflejo interesante de Las experiencias de trauma y exilio, son Claras y difíciles de tragar a ratos.
No es la mejor obra de Donoso, Pero sí es una obra que Tiene muchos de sus elementos clásicos, incuído un caracter fuertemente autobiográfico, que en este caso, refleja el desgarro de una manera impresionante.
Ampliamente recomendada para entender procesos de exilio y diáspora, Pero es imprescindible "aguantar" y llegar Al último capítulo, que cambia todo.

4.5/5–i really liked this book, i think the characters are well written and the plot unfolds well. i do think you need a grip on latin american culture to get it though (accomplished by my spanish class nothing crazy) but there are a lot of history/culture references that change the reading experience
