Jessaca has a way with dark topics. She writes them in such a phenomenal way that you get sucked right into the story and emerging is never fun. February 9th can't come fast enough! I need more of this series!

When primordial monsters take over the world and spread their blight upon the land, the Shadow Crusaders fight to keep the people safe. Halira and Dimitri both enlist and set off to train with the Crusaders. Halira knows she's different but it's a secret she holds close to her heart. If anyone finds out, she's as good as dead.

Monsters, weapons, dark secrets, what more could you ask for? Read this book!

Okay so here’s the thing I’m going back here and re-editing my review of this book. When I had originally read it my brain was going through major readers block and I feel
Like I didn’t give this book the review it deserved.

So here I am let me begging by saying this book is so
Mind blowing amazing and this amazing author is such a hidden gem to the world more people need to read this.

With that said we follow the story of Halira and her best friend Dimitri aka love possible love interested. Her childhood best friend they have grown up together and all they have is each other at one point
This world is set in a very dark fantasy setting demons roam
This earth and theirs a group called the shadow crusades who claim to fight for the people and keep them save when their one and only Allie the mages couldn’t do that and abound them to be taken by this shadows?

Halira has some family troubles along this journey and self discovery of family secret kept from her and her sister.
What if two sisters who have choosen two different paths only to be forced back together.

This story has so many twist and turns I’m prepping to dive into book two
Immediately after this and I honestly missed so much on my first go and I’m so
Glad I reread this story is so gripping and different my heart is not ready for this journey and more.
