Look, I didn't get super far so I can only hope there is a bit of a time jump. The book starts with the main character as a teen and the person who will become the main love interest is his godfather. Though their age gap isn't huge, that makes me feel icky and I won't be able to enjoy this because I wont be able to get that beginning dynamic out of my head.
