dnf at page 123. I am just so bored. There are so many better ways to write your worldbuilding rather than shove it all into a reader's face. I also tend to care more about character-driven danmei and this one seemed to focus way too much on which tribe did what and who betrayed who, instead of, you know, making me care about the main character.

The somewhat taboo nature of the future romance would have been interesting if I gave a single fuck about either of them lmao.

Steampunk ancient China??? Yes please. This is a super complex political plot, but I'm really enjoying it so far and Priest clearly put a TON of effort into this story. The scene with Chang Geng bringing his iron puppet over to Gu Yun's courtyard at the crack of dawn with a lantern and some food just so he could spend some time with his Yifu before he left for the day got me. So adorable.
