I honestly couldn't get over the fact that Benedict clearly took advantage of the power dynamics. Also we don't even see that much of his supposed personality and passion.

It's like a mashup of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast in a lot of ways. Both main characters annoyed me at times, and like a lot of romance novels it was cheesy, but it kept me entertained and has me looking forward to reading more Bridgerton books.

Lighthearted fun. Sophie is lovely, and though the book moves fast, her romantic tension with Benedict is to die for, even if I sometimes wanted to punch that man in the face.

Cute and easy.
I feel like there should have been enough of a reason for Sophie and Benedict to not be together, but he didn’t seem to consider the consequences that he and his family would have if he married her much. He got over it all really fast. And Sophie’s reasons for continually saying no seemed very underdeveloped. I needed more angst and pining between them especially bc of the time skip.
