This was overall a fun book! Yes it is super unrealistic, but aren't most fake dating/marriage of convenience tropes? With the timeline of the book, some parts felt rushed (I would have loved more banter and scenes of Tansy and Gemma's relationship developing) and it was still delightful. And almost no miscommunication trope! Love that. Tansy and Gemma's dynamic may just rival my favorite Bellefluer couple, though not quite enough to out rank them (Margot + Olivia 4ever).

I liked the nod to Count Your Lucky Stars with Oliva as the wedding planner, but kinda dissappinted we didn't get to actually seem them all interact

Some of the end was over the top drama, but also had some of my favorite parts, like the convo between Gemma and Brooks:

"Let's say I try. What happens the next time I inevitably fuck up?"

"Then you wake up the next day and you try again and fail again and fail better."

Alexandria Bellefleur is becoming a go-to author for cutesy, swoony reads. Add that to all the Swiftie references and I just could not stop smiling while reading this one.

The troupe - fake dating/relationship. We all know how this goes - couple fakes relationship because one or both of them needs to appear in love. Of course by the end of the book, our MC's realize their love is real but it's the journey to get there that makes this one great.

Tansy, a girl who just wants to be left alone and run her bookstore, is tired of her families constant questioning on her love life. So she creates a fake relationship with a book cover model named Gemma - who, in true comic fashion, turns out to be real. And Gemma also needs a fake partner in order to inherit her grandfathers company. Enter the fake relationship.

Now right off the bat there's attraction. But of course both hide it from the other, because how could they expect this to be real? But as they spend more and more time together, the lines start to get blurred. They really start to bring out the best in each other and it didn't take long for me to root for them. While I guessed the twist/reveal at the end, I still really enjoyed watching these two fall for each other.

And is it just me, or does the brunette on the cover look a lot like Alexandra Daddario?
