I've always loved Dolly. I watched her television specials, then variety show as a child, have seen her in concert, and always been aware of her presence in the music world. Over the last decade I have become much more aware of her philanthropy. Dolly is a national treasure. She is the rare example of a good human who practices what she preaches, does NOT get pushed around, and works her way through obstacles in a seemingly peaceful, if occasionally volatile way.
We need to protect her, and hope more human beings like her are coming.

I highly recommend listening to the audiobook. It felt like sitting at a kitchen table and listening to Dolly tell stories.
I wish I had a dollar for every time she says, “That’s one of my favorite songs.”
If any human is an actual living angel, it’s Dolly Parton.

The physical book and audio do not match up at all, so do not try to random read.
I love the physics book for the photos but it left me wanting more for each song. This is like the snippets that used to be on tapes or cds.
I enjoyed the stories that Dolly tells in the audio, but it was clear the stories she was telling were clipped together. The narrator/question asker was later dubbed in and didnt sound like he was asking the same question she was answering. It felt like the recordings weren’t originally intended for this book. It would have been better if the audio weren’t tied to the book itself and it could have just been “Dolly’s Memories” or something similar.
