Messy ass essays. So on point and yet so incredibly far off. Naive in its sincerity to the point that it becomes camp in a way that can only be described as self fulfilling prophecy? I think? I love it.

cinq étoiles pour cette livre!!

'what other response than anguish, followed by anaesthesia and then by wit and the elevating of intelligence over sentiment, is possible as a response to the social disorder and mass atrocities of our time?'
pretty fuckin brill take on the modern phenomena of affective flattening among my self and my peers that's for sure. liked both essays. enjoyed learning about the origins and ethos of the camp sensibility.

This book is about analysing what the word "Camp" means regarding aesthetic practices. Unfortunately, I didn't understand much of this book except the parts which tried to explain the connection between homosexuals and "Being camp" which was interesting. Apparently, this book was the theme for the Met Gala a few years ago and Harry Styles recommends it. As someone who isn't really involved in the arts or it's various industries. I just don't think I'm the right reader for this.
