Just when I think SJM has done her big one, she outdoes herself. I'm in aboslute AWE of her brain, I genuinely do not know how she comes up with these books. Once you push through the complete and utter confusion you experience at the start of this book, the world building really comes together and you find yourself completely engrossed in all 800 pages of this book.
I really wasn't sure how I was going to feel about House of Earth and Blood one, given the mixed reviews I've heard and how much I love ACOTAR and TOG, but was really pleasantly surprised. I already feel so attached and connected to these characters (Hunt <3) and think this series has strong potential to be another favorite of mine. This book was an incredible start to this series (one of the best first books in a series I've ever read), and I am so excited to continue reading it!

Get through chapter 5 and you’ll be hooked. Another very heavy world building book but sooooo soo good. I actually started SJ Maas series with this book and it was a good intro to the worlds.

this storyline had me on the edge of my seat the whole time..just when u thought everything was good BOOM plot twist it was just so good.
and danika and bryce’s friendship was seriously incredible and had me in tears like wow i am just in awe and have no words to describe how i am feeling rn
special shoutout to hunt calling bryce a fucking coward as she is dead on the floor that made me chuckle so bad

I wish I could rate the first half one way and the second half another way. The first half had me falling asleep, but the second half had me laughing crying and getting chills. I’m glad I listened to my friends to continue listening but man the first half really drug out
