Sinceramente, como nunca livro com este tipo de construção de linha de pensamento me confundiu bastante para entender direito a historia , mas passei por isto com Gabriel Garcia Marques. Não estava acostumada com uma escrita direto quase sem virgula e parágrafo. Me perdi muito em Cronica de uma Morte anuciada , mas amei Cem anos de solidão .

For some reason I was under the impression that this novel was actually a play script. Imagine my surprise, therefore, when I flipped it open to its first page and saw prose. My disappointment, as a matter of fact, did not end there. The stream of consciousness narrative was disorienting and unpleasant. There were moments, specifically during Septimus's perspective and his wife's, that my boredom abated but the relief their views offered was minimal and quickly became as intolerable as the rest of the book. The most frustrating thing, however, was the constant jumping to and fro of plot and point of view. Reading 'Mrs Dalloway' is not an experience I would like to repeat and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else with my reading tastes.

Holy. Shit. I didn’t have to read this for English but based off of the few excerpts we received, I want to formally thank my literature professor for having me discover this wonder classic and making me interested enough to pick it up at half-price.
Split into multiple perspectives, it all centers around Clarissa, a wife of a governor throwing a party that evening. This book is set in a day and it doesn’t even feel like so.
I have to write an analysis essay on this book and before having read it, I choose to write on Septimus and the contrast between him and Clarissa, however if I had the chance to change my argument, I would’ve have chosen the relationship dynamic between Peter Walsh and Clarrisa Dalloway because by far, their dynamic is what kept me hooked throughout the entire classic.

I need to read more by Virginia Woolf. The style of Mrs. Dalloway is so distinctive, and while some people may find it jarring, I love the life-like pacing of it. Aside from this, the story itself is a beautifully-told tale of regret, missed opportunity, and lost loves. Sally x Clarissa forever
