Dense, but worth it. Also, some darker elements of humanly never change, no matter how evolved/technologically advanced we think we are. Makes COVID and our behaviors seem simultaneously tame and also somewhat repetitive, especially when no one knew exactly how it spread (but it's group x's fault). 

Humanity is oddly predictable.

Goes into detail too much without looking at the big picture. Tedious and entirely TOO informational to the point Tha I learned a lot of tiny facts not connected to the plague.

Equal parts fascinating but completely grim.

I am not a squeamish person at all, but I'll be happy to never hear the term 'anal leakage' again during an audiobook. That is all.
