It had some good moments, but also could be a bit cheesy. I read this for book club, definitely not something I would have picked for myself.

I abandoned another book I was halfway finished reading the moment this book came in the mail. This is my 2nd Katherine Center novel, and my 2nd 5-star review of one of her books. To put that into perspective, only about 10% of the books I read make it to the 5-star category. She may very well be my new favorite author.
Her books (this far) have made me laugh-in the midst of depression, they made me laugh. They made me feel things and assess my life from a new perspective.
The author has a way of rallying you behind the main character and truly feeling the way she feels, and the side characters are never stereotypes, but are well fleshed out in a way that just feels natural.
Pick up How to Walk Away if you’re ready for a novel that feels like a heartbreaking (but mostly heartwarming), nourishing hug.

Therapists don't fall in love with patients. Some great parts and some beyond cringe parts from an author I really like.

About loss in life and still standing. About finding your way through tragedies
This has got to be the feel-good book of the summer. I absolutely adored this book! Maggie, a recent graduate and recently engaged has her entire life change course in one swift moment. How she learns to survive and thrive in her new life was so inspiring and uplifting to me. A few parts were a little cheesy but overall this is a book about family, love, courage and never quitting. I loved every minute of it and finished it in two sittings! It’s a perfect summer beach read as well!
