Oh the betrayal and backstabbing in this book is REAL.
The enemies to lovers, I think only one side actually hated more than they think they did.
But love conquers all.
Lies are uncovered!
Oh gosh I can’t wait to finish the second book.

Go to him, watch him fight with himself over morality and love. See if he would deny a coven leader. Because that’s the difference between him and I, Raven. I would break every rule, I would burn the world down for you. I know you’re worth it without needing the time to figure it out.”

Short Synopsis:
Raven is a moon witch. When their current coven leader dies, a trial is held to name their next leader. Raven enters the trial - which is run by the evil and sexy Dark King.

Thoughts:
This book reminded me so much of ACOTAR in the best way, but with WITCHES. I couldn’t read it fast enough. I loved the competition. I loved the magic. I loved the romance. I loved the twists. I simply just loved it, and it’s now at the top of my favorite witchy books. I am super sad though that the next book doesn’t come out until next year, because I needed it yesterday.

Read if you like:

I could not stop listening to this book! From start to finish, it had me completely hooked. It has everything—mystery, a battle of good vs. evil (where nothing is quite as it seems), magic, witches, and some seriously spicy scenes. The character development is fantastic, and I loved how the story kept me on my toes with unexpected twists. I cried hard during this one, and just when I thought I could catch my breath, the ending set things up perfectly for the second book. If you love fantasy with deep emotions, complex characters, and a touch of steam, this is a must-read. A solid 5-star book for me, and I highly recommend it!

YES! A great balance of magic, romance, friendship, nostalgia, trials, spice and twists! This book was a great read which ticked so many boxes. The kingdom of fae, shifters witches and the like, all ruled by the Dark King. Our FMC Raven fuelled with anger and determination goes toe to toe with the Dark King, only to uncover so much more about her past, her coven, family and friends. This is a witchy and magic filled story that keeps you on the edge of your seat with twists enough to give you whiplash. Cannot wait to read the second. There is so much to love about this book.
