Arngrim manages to expertly blend humour and emotion, relaying a dark childhood with the same voice she uses to narrate a folksy family show. As someone who has never seen or read Little House (or even knew much about it), I still enjoyed this book because of Arngrim’s writing style. Save for a few particularly dark chapters, much of this book is laugh-out-loud funny and tells the story of a young girl all alone who grows up to be a brave woman with a strong support system, all thanks to this Nellie character.

Again didn’t expect much but this made me laugh so many times! Touches on some real issues and make me love this prairie bitch so much more! Such a strong women.
Started reading this because of the title, but ended up loving it way more than I expected. I figured this would have some fun stories about the making of Little House on the Prairie, which it certainly does (the wheelchair scene has an entire chapter!!!), but Alison Arngrim's story is so much more than that. After everything she has been through in her life, she is somehow such a positive, inspiring, insanely funny, and overall good person. I want to be her friend.
I absolutely loved this book and how Alison wrote the whole story.
The pictures were super cool too.

I don't often go in for memoires, but I'm glad I followed a friend's recommendation on this one. Arngrim knows how to tell a good story, so even if you've never watched an episode of Little House on the Prairie (though I might fix this issue at some point), this is a (mostly)* fun listen. *See content warnings

Interesting read as I grew up watching Little House as a kid. Gave background info on Alison (Nellie) growing up, how she landed the Little House part and her life beyond.
